Dimondale wraps around a bend in the Grand River, close enough to Lansing to catch its glow but quiet enough to keep the pace of a river village. The lots along Bridge Street and the older blocks near the water are shaded by trees planted generations ago — tall silver and sugar maples, a few solid oaks, river birch down by the bank — and most of them now stand a good deal closer to the houses than anyone ever planned.

That closeness is what makes Dimondale a careful-work town, and careful work is what we do. Hayworth Tree Service is family-owned, licensed and insured, and a lot of our village jobs come down to getting a big tree safely out of a small space without disturbing anything around it.

Shade trees that grew up with the village

A mature maple over a Dimondale porch is beautiful and, eventually, a lot of weight in the wrong places. Most of what these old shade trees need is upkeep: regular pruning to clear deadwood and keep the canopy sound, or a crown reduction to pull weight off long limbs reaching over the roof. When a tree has a split trunk or a weak union but plenty of good years left, we can cable and brace it instead of taking it down. Saving a good tree is almost always the better call, and we'll say so when it applies.

When a tree really is done — dead, hollow, or hazardous — we remove it the village way, lowering every piece by rope so it never free-falls onto the lawn.

Careful is the whole job on a tight lot

On lots this close together, there's no margin. A limb dropped wrong finds a fence, a shed, or a neighbor's window. So we rig. We set lines, lower controlled pieces, and swing them clear of anything that matters. After the tree's down, we grind the stump below grade so you can plant, mow, or just be done with it. And when a storm rolls up the river and drops a limb across your drive at midnight, our emergency crew is a phone call away.

Being just south of the capital keeps us close to plenty of neighbors, too. We're in Lansing daily, over in Holt across the river, and up in Grand Ledge most weeks.

Why the village keeps our number close

Dimondale folks tell us the same things their neighbors do: we're quick to come look, our price is fair and clear, and we treat a small yard with real respect. No ruts across the grass, no branches left in the flower beds, no gouges in the driveway. When we roll out, the only difference is the tree that needed handling is handled and the yard is clean.

Have a big tree leaning a little too close for comfort? Let's take a look before the river throws a storm at it. Ring Hayworth Tree Service at (208) 635-2100 for a free, no-obligation estimate and honest advice on what to do next.

What our customers say

Highly recommend Hayworth Tree Service. I reached out early this spring and had a response in a timely manner. Much to my surprise they contacted me and had availability the following day. The process and clean up was fantastic. The tree was very large, next to my house and had some wires to work around. Very professional service. I'd call them again for any tree service needs!

Steven and his crew took great care of me. I had some major trees along the back of my house that needed to go. Steven was great in communication all the way from estimates to scheduling and completion. His quote beat most but I was happy to pay more than a few based on his knowledge, experience and skill.

Absolutely PHENOMENAL work! I purchased a home and the backyard was entirely overgrown with trees and shrubs. I would 10/10 recommend this business to anyone and everyone. They are extremely kind, communicative, and their work speaks for itself! They are careful with all of their work and do a wonderful job cleaning up.

Tree Service in Dimondale — FAQs

Yes, and that's most of what we do in the village. We rope the limbs down piece by piece rather than felling the tree, so nothing swings into the house, the garage, or the neighbor's yard.
